Internship in Oral Medicine/ Oral Oncology for the General Practitioner
The curriculum is tailored to the desires of the intern with experiences in clinical oral medicine, oral medicine case analysis, clinical or basic research and seminars.

Details
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences (OMDS) offers an advanced education course entitled “Internship in Oral Medicine/Oncology for the General Practitioner”. This course is designed to give the intern an experience in clinical oral medicine that will better equip them to pursue an oral medicine/ residency. The intern can observe in the faculty’s intramural practice, under the direction of the full-time professors and participate in the head and neck cancer tumor board at Shands. In addition, the intern may attend departmentally offered courses and clinical case conferences. We also offer the intern an opportunity to work on a basic or clinical research project during the course. The research may be presented at a national or international meeting and could also be published in the oral and maxillofacial OMDS literature

All UF Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences, Division of Oral Medicine faculty will be participating in the program
Schedule & Acceptance Criteria
Open to any Dentist (U.S. or International) with US citizenship or a green card
9-Month Program
October 1st through June 30th
Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm (excluding University holidays)
Certification
Contact Hours: Varies with individual schedule selected by the participant.
Participation/Lecture
Hands-On Workshop
Upon completion of the Internship, Continuing Education Units (CEU) and a certificate of completion from the Continuing Education Department is awarded.
Includes Limited Patient Care
Fees
Tuition: $26,250
Payable in four non-refundable quarterly payments of $6,562.50
Additional expenses may include the purchase of a laptop (College’s choice), scrubs, and textbooks. Details provided upon acceptance.
