Internship
Length:
- 1-year Internships for US and International Dentists and dental scholars
- Description: An educational experience that lasts one year and includes limited patient care. Internships are open to any dentist (U.S./International) with a dental degree; topics can be either general dentistry or dental specialties.
- 9-month Internships for US Dentists and International Dentists with green cards
- Description: An educational experience that lasts 9 months and includes limited patient care. Internships are open to any U.S. dentist or International dentist with a green card; topics can be either general dentistry or dental specialties.
- Are you a general dentist who is interested in eventually obtaining specialty training? Most admissions into dental residency programs are very competitive. This 9-Month internship might be just what you are looking for. Apply for an internship in the dental specialty area that interests you and, if accepted, you will 1) strengthen your CV and application for a dental specialty residency, AND 2) gain valuable experience that will make your residency training much easier once you are accepted. The program schedule can be flexible to accommodate those dentists that are working part-time.
Completion of the Continuing Education Internship Program is an educational goal in itself, and in no way insures acceptance to a Postgraduate Residency Program. Although many resources will be provided by the selected Department, this is a Continuing Education program and is not listed on the University of Florida Registrar’s records.

Topics can be either general dentistry, dental specialties or research topics.
Clerkship
Length: Less than 1 month
Description: A custom-study program that lasts less than one month. No direct patient care is included in this experience. Clerkships are intended for dentists with a dental degree (U.S./International), topics could be either general dentistry or dental specialties.

For Florida-licensed Dentists
- Board of Dentistry Mandated Remediation
- A custom-education program of varying length that is open to Florida-licensed dentists who require BOD mandated remediation; this program may involve direct patient care.
