Objectives

  • Understand the steps required to take a proper panoramic radiograph and be able to identify and correct errors.
  • Review real and ghost formations.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and correct the errors with a case-based self-assessment.

  • Identify carotid artery calcifications on panoramic radiographs.

PM Course – Radiographic Navigation in the Diagnosis of Lesions within the Jaws

Description

A plethora of conditions are seen within the maxillofacial complex including developmental, inflammatory, neoplastic, and metabolic conditions. Intraoral periapical, bitewings along with panoramic radiographs are the most common imaging modalities in a dental practice. • Understand normal anatomical landmarks
  • Understand the various errors commonly seen with these images
  • Diagnose common pathological lesions seen on 2D images
  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings on CBCT images.
