About this event

The Center for Implant Dentistry (CID) at the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry is proud to announce its 25th anniversary celebration! Founded in 1999 through a generous grant from the Straumann Company and the International Team for Implantology (ITI), with matching funds from the State of Florida, the CID has been a beacon of innovation and excellence in the fields of education, research, and patient care.

Over the past quarter-century, the CID has been recognized as a leading institution, hosting 30 ITI Scholars from around the globe and contributing significantly to the mission of the University and ITI. Our faculty have been celebrated as international educators, researchers, and leaders, making impactful contributions to the dental community.

To commemorate this milestone, we warmly invite you to this special celebration of the CID’s remarkable contributions over the past 25 years.

Meet our speakers

Dr. Rony Jung

Rony Jung is trained in oral surgery, prosthodontics, and implant therapy. He is currently Head Division of Implantology at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zürich.

Dr. Danny Buser

Dr. Da­niel Bu­ser is Pro­fes­sor and Chairman at the De­part­ment of Oral Sur­ge­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ber­n in Swit­zer­land since 2000. He spent several sabbaticals at Harvard University in Boston (1989-91), at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas (1995), and at the University of Melbourne (2007/08). In 2016, he spends another 6-month sabbatical at Harvard School of Dental Medicine for various projects

Dr. Dean Morton

Prof. Dean Morton studied dentistry at the University of Sydney, and obtained an MS and Certificate in Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at Indiana University. He also serves as Director of the Center for Implant, Esthetic and Innovative Dentistry. Prof. Morton is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and a fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, American College of Prosthodontists and the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Ghida Lawand

Dr. Ghida Lawand is a prosthodontist implant fellow.

Dr. German Gallucci

Dr. German Gallucci received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (Dr. Med. Dent.) from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He attended a postdoctoral training at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion, School of Dental Medicine, University of Geneva where he later became a full-time faculty at the same department. Dr Gallucci also received a Ph.D. from the Free University of Amsterdam. In 2007, he established a new Postgraduate Education Program in Oral Implantology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is currently department chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences.
