This course aims to inform dental practitioners of an emerging alternative treatment to pulpectomies and extractions for non-vital primary teeth called lesion sterilization and tissue repair (LSTR). LSTR is a non-instrumentation endodontic treatment that involves a tri-antibiotic mixture in a propylene glycol vehicle, which is used to disinfect root canal systems.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the origins of the development of the Lesion Sterilization and Tissue Repair (LSTR) Techniques
- Understand the foundational research on which the LSTR Technique is based.
- Understand the selection criteria for application of the LSTR Technique
- Understand the LSTR Technique to treat infected primary teeth.
