Understanding Platelet-Rich Fibrin for TMD: PRF Intracapsular Injection Protocols

Description

This 4-hour comprehensive training equips practitioners with the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). Participants will explore PRF biology, phlebotomy and centrifuge protocols, and learn precise intracapsular TMJ injection techniques to reduce pain, improve mobility, decrease clicking/popping, and address degenerative joint disease. Through hands-on training and expert guidance, this course provides a complete framework for integrating PRF into clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand PRF Biology and Regenerative Benefits: Explore the biology and regenerative properties of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in treating TMJ disorders.
  • Master TMJ Anatomy and Diagnostic Skills: Review TMJ anatomy and learn to accurately differentiate between muscular and joint-related TMD.
  • Learn PRF Protocols and Preparation: Perform blood draws, optimize centrifuge settings, and practice precise extraction techniques to collect growth factors, ensuring optimal PRF preparation and maximum regenerative benefits.
  • Develop Injection Techniques for TMJ Pain Management: Perform intracapsular TMJ injections with PRF to reduce pain, improve range of motion, decrease popping/clicking, and address degenerative joint disease.

Hands-On Workshop:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat TMD with step-by-step protocols.
  • Practice TMJ injection techniques on patients (participants are encouraged to bring their own patients for personalized instruction).
  • Learn proper injection techniques and safety protocols to minimize complications and maximize results.

Outcome:

Gain the confidence and skills to immediately implement PRF treatments, offering minimally invasive, effective solutions for TMD and orofacial pain, and enhancing patient care.
