Certification Exam and Hands-On Skills Requirements
To successfully complete the course and earn certification, participants must:
- Earn a score of 75% or higher on the written Certification Exam.
- Receive a Satisfactory rating on all required hands-on and/or clinical skills assessments.
Hands-on and clinical skills assessments are evaluated as either Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory. Participants must achieve a Satisfactory rating on all required assessments to be eligible for certification.
Participants who score below 75% on the written Certification Exam will be permitted one remediation exam (retake). The remediation exam must be completed within three months of the original course date.
Participants who do not achieve a Satisfactory rating on a required hands-on or clinical skills assessment may be required to complete additional remediation as determined by the course instructor.
If a participant does not successfully complete the required remediation, or does not complete remediation within the three-month period, they will be required to register for and attend the course again before becoming eligible for certification. Participants required to repeat the course will be responsible for the applicable course registration fee.
Certification will only be awarded after all written examination and required hands-on or clinical skills assessments have been successfully completed.
The Continuing Dental Education Department and its Director reserve the right to grant, deny, withhold, or revoke certification when deemed necessary based on attendance, participation, performance, professionalism, or failure to meet program requirements.
